We are excited to be adding some new members to our team and have vacancies for experienced seamstresses/seamster’s for our busy Norwich workshop.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Main responsibility – sewing and constructing garments, alterations & repairs.

  • Customer Fittings - discussing any design, alteration, or repair requirements with the customer and taking all necessary measurements.

  • Ensuring sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • At least 3 years experience as a seamstress/seamster - These skills can be self-taught or learnt from a course.

  • Exceptional Sewing Skills & experience with industrial machines.

  • Proven experience with alterations and repairs of all types of garments.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Experience with customer fittings – to include discussing design, alteration, or repair requirements with customers, taking measurements and accurately recording instructions.

  • Technical knowledge of how a garment is constructed, taken apart and put back together.

  • Pattern Making/ Cutting Skills - (Desired but not compulsory) Capable of making dress and other garment patterns from a drawing or visual -able to reproduce a garment from a drawing or visual.

  • Good knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.

  • Effective communication skills – able to communicate well and speak good English.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of quality control principles.

  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a friendly team.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

References will be provided on request required; portfolio work can also be included.

Hours: Negotiable, Part and Full-Time positions available (Monday-Saturday)

Salary: Negotiable depending on skill level and experience.
